See all- Memorial Day Weekend Lake Michigan CharterDouble Action Dive Charters - Chicago Area, Hammond, IN
Kick off the Lake Michigan Charter season with 3 dives on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend!
The Charter will be with Double Action Dive Charters on board the SeaQuest 2 out of Hammond, IN. Current plan is to dive three popular wreck sites: the Straits of Mackinac, Nicole's Wreck and the Rotarian.
The Straits is a purpose sunk automobile ferry. She is sitting upright, about 60 feet to the deck and 85 feet to the bottom. She sits about 7 miles East of Evanston.
Nicole's Wreck was newly discovered a few years ago. The wheel and anchor are intact. She sits at about 45 feet.
The Rotarian is a steamship that sank. She served as a speakeasy during prohibition. There are still beer bottles to be seen.
The SeaQuest 2 is a relatively large stable boat about 47' long. Easy giant stride entry off the starboard side, and exit via the stern boarding ladder.

Requirements: Advanced open water or higher (Double Action does not allow Open Water divers to dive sites deeper than 60 feet). Previous cold water diving experience a must. Prior Lake Michigan diving experience preferred. You must bring ALL equipment (including weights and tanks), as there is no gear on the boat. A dry suit is highly recommended, as the water is likely to be cold and we're doing three dives. Anticipate temperature of 45-55 degrees.
The crew will usually provide water and basic snacks (cookies and sometimes fruit) for between dives. Feel free to bring anything else you may want. There are coolers on the boat.
Other notes: You are signing up with Double Action directly. If you pay and need to cancel, their refund and cancellation policy applies and this is between you and them. They will generally issue credits if you need to cancel provided you give at least seven days notice. They will also issue credits or refunds if the charter is cancelled due to weather or other reasons. There is space for 12 total. They generally need at least 4 signed up for the charter to run.
